Welcome to Liebehund German Shepherd Dogs website, and we hope you take the time to enjoy viewing the dogs who are currently living with us and those who we have loved and still greatly miss.
We are a small kennel, who own and breed German Shepherds which have excellent temperment, size, construction, soundness, colour and good health. Our dogs are intelligent, stable in mind and body and have a wealth of character. We are also registered with the Kennel Club's Accredited Breeder's Scheme.
Whilst having German lines throughout all our GSDs we do not have overly angulated dogs, we have dogs who are fit to be on the go all day and who love to swim, run and jump. We do not follow the trend for dogs that have wobbly hind legs which has been highlighted on TV recently. We also do not breed dogs that lack freedom of shoulder movement.
Several of our dogs have done well in the show ring as youngsters and we are happy to report that our return to the ring with Tegan (Conquell Octavia for Liebehund) has been very rewarding as she has already achieved two best puppies and one best in breed - we are extremely happy with such an amazing result. She has gone on to qualify for Crufts 2009 at her first attempt.
We are also proud to be able to say that we have dogs who have qualified as Pets as Therapy (PAT) dogs and who also spend time working with children and adults to help them overcome their fear of dogs as well as introducing general dog awareness and the correct behaviour around dogs. We are now taking the Kennel Club's safe and sound scheme out to Scouts, Brownies, Guides and schools on request. Please see the "Safe and Sound" page for more information.
We welcome visitors, to come and meet us, the dogs and the other four and two legged residents that share our home.
Currently Living with us, is Conquell Wasko (Asher), Joessa Kai (Aoifa), Conquell Octavia for Liebehund (Tegan) and our new addition Cardigan Corgi - Kilvroch Adara at Liebehund (Tansy). We also have two cats and chickens.
Asher is our resident oldie, who has had a great life and now enjoys life in the slow lane. Asher spends a good part of his day curled up on the sofa supervising the cats.
In his younger days Asher did well in the show ring as well as being a PAT dog. He was so in tune with me that when I had blood pressure problems he knew when I was going to pass out and used to sit on me!

Our dogs lead a pretty spoilt life and we are lucky enough to not only have a fantastic garden that enables them to go and lose themselves for a while or play chase, we are very close to both canal towpaths and large common lands where they get lots of free running which keeps them healthy in mind and body.
They also do regular school runs, occasional shows and help us teach Safe and Sound which they seem to enjoy - they love being the centre of attention for so many people. |
